President's Commission on the Status of Women

The President's Commission on the Status of Women is seeking Graduate Student nominations to serve on the commission. The commission meets on the third monday of each month during the academic year. This is a 2-year appointment. Monthly meetings are held at Bachman #113 from 1-3 p.m. Graduate Students are to contact Allen Diorec at 956-6998 or by email (diorec@hawaii.com). The list of candidates will be forwarded by Allen Diorec to GSO President Marc Le Pape. The nominees will be submission to President McClain by the GSO Executive Council.

GSO EC Meeting on Thursday

Aloha Everyone:

After discussing the budget with GSO Treasure Mark Pitts over the phone yesterday, Mark and I both agreed that a GSO EC meeting would be appropriate as key issues need to be discussed before presenting the final budget to the GSO Assembly. As such I am scheduling a meeting for Thursday May 10th at 4:30 p.m. in the GSO office. So, both EC and Assembly meetings will take place on the same day.

Given the critical importance of budget decisions before ratification, I respectfully ask every EC member to attend so we may have feedback from everyone on this matter.

GSO Assembly Meeting: Date Change

Aloha Everyone:

As it turns out too many people cannot attend the scheduled Assembly meeting on Wednesday May 9th from one reason or another. Considering that key budget decisions will be made at this meeting before ratification by the Assembly, it is incumbent upon me to maximize this meeting's attendance to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to express her or his views on budget decisions.

As such, I have resolved to push forward the GSO Assembly meeting from Wednesday May 9th to Thursday May 10.
Everything else remains the same. I do apologize for any inconvenience.

I'll see you then all on Thursday May 10th at 5:30 p.m.
